Droptop Gorgeous: Denza Z Convertible wows at Beijing Auto Show
Denza Z Convertible is a 2+2 electric droptop that commands attention
Denza surely made its presence felt at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show (AKA Auto China) with something truly special. Whereas most brands showcased their latest electrified crossovers, SUVs, and pickup trucks, BYD’s luxury marque Denza arrived at this year’s auto show with one heck of a vehicle.

Say hello to the exquisite Denza Z Convertible, and on looks alone, it’s a clear winner. First revealed as a concept car at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, the Denza Z Convertible was penned by Wolfgang Egger, a former Audi designer, who is now the global design director for BYD.
With its European-inspired design and curvaceous lines, the Z Convertible literally stands out. From its sleek front end to its bold rear fascia, the Z Convertible appears to be a mix of Ferrari, Maserati, and Lamborghini designs combined into one wicked-looking droptop. Also worth mentioning are bold LED headlights, the eye-catching dual LED taillights, and the sweeping side profile that’s complemented by wide hips via the rear quarter panels.

Last but certainly not least, the Denza Z Convertible comes with multi-spoke alloy wheels that appear to have a staggered setup, bright yellow brake calipers, a rakish windshield, aggressive bumpers, and a unique exterior color called “Fiorentene”, which makes the roadster pop even more.
Like most droptops, the Denza Z Convertible has rear buttresses, which remind everyone that it can be an open-top vehicle. We were also able to take a peek inside the Z Convertible’s cabin. Despite being cordoned off, the all-electric Z has a digital gauge cluster, a touchscreen infotainment display, and a steering wheel that appears to have been inspired by a certain Prancing Horse from Europe.

Not only does it have the push-button start on the steering wheel itself, but drivers can also set up the suspension settings, drive modes, and other vehicle parameters with just a quick press of a button. Meanwhile, the rest of the interior comes with the same “Fiorentine” color as the exterior, along with neat yellow accents that serve as a nice contrast against the unique interior finish.

The Z Convertible is powered by an all-electric powertrain. Denza has yet to reveal more details about it, but they did say it cranks out over 1,000 PS and can go from 0 - 100 km/h in under 2 seconds, thanks to the “Yi Sanfang” AWD system. It also comes with the brand’s DiSus-M intelligent magneride suspension with predictive damping, a steer-by-wire system, as well as full chassis control.

The Denza Z Convertible will officially make its global debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed and will be offered first in Europe. Heck, Denza even plans to challenge record laps at the Nurburgring to even make a bigger statement on the world stage.
