Denza Philippines has officially joined the high-end luxury SUV market with a pair of frame-based models that benefit from the brand's DMO Super Hybrid Technology. Making their presence felt are the 2026 Denza B5 and B8, and they are here to shake up the luxury SUV segment.

“The introduction of the all-new DENZA B5 and B8 is an important milestone for us in the Philippines. These vehicles allow us to connect with a wider range of customers-- especially those looking for SUVs that offer not just functional benefits of a new energy vehicle, but the emotional benefits of owning one,” said Adam Hu, Country Head of Denza and BYD Philippines.

Both the B5 and B8 luxury SUVs feature a boxy yet stately exterior design that appears to have been inspired by models that carry a certain “T” badge. The B5 serves as the smallest of two electrified SUVs and is a five-seater model. It measures 4888mm long, 1970mm wide, and 1920mm tall with a 2800mm wheelbase. It also has 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 265/65 series tires and a minimum turning radius of 5.9 meters.

Meanwhile, the B8 is larger and comes with three rows of seats. Depending on the variant chosen, the Denza B8 can have a 2+3+2 seating layout or a 2+2+2 layout for a more relaxing ride. Size-wise, the B8 measures 5195mm long, 1994mm wide, and 1905mm tall with a 2920mm wheelbase. Huge 20-inch alloy wheels come as standard and are wrapped in 275/55 series tires. Last but not least, the B8 has a minimum 6-meter turning radius.

Hop inside, and the B5 welcomes you into a fully decked-out cabin. While some brands have decided to abandon buttons and physical controls, the Denza B5 still comes with plenty of switches that users can press and toggle. From the fighter jet-inspired center console that's filled with toggles and buttons to the tactile switches on the doors and on the steering wheel, those who prefer physical controls will find the cabin familiar.

Like most BYD and Denza vehicles, the B5 comes with a pair of high-definition displays. One is a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, while the other is a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. It also has dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera system, a 4G network connection with Wi-Fi hotspot, and remote engine start.

Other niceties available inside the B5 include: a panoramic sunroof, a 16-speaker sound system, a host of USB-C & USB-A charging ports, a 50W wireless charging pad, a car refrigerator, rear A/C vents, leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats with massage function, memory seat function for the driver, and ISOFIX child seat anchors for the rear seats.

Over to the B8, the three-row plug-in SUV also comes with a familiar-looking cabin. However, the B8 has a bigger 17.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It has wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, along with a 4G network connection with Wi-Fi hotspot. Instead of just having dual-zone climate control, the B8 features a three-zone climate control system and an 18-speaker sound system. Those who need to charge multiple devices will be happy to know it has USB-C and USB-A charging ports and two 50W wireless charging pads.

Other amenities inside the B8 include: Nappa leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, a built-in refrigerator, multi-color ambient lighting, soft-closing doors, and power-adjustable seats with massage & memory function.

Under the hood, both the B5 and B8 are powered by electrified powertrains called the DMO Super Hybrid Technology. If the name rings a bell, it's quite similar to the BYD Shark 6's DMO system, albeit cranked up to 11. Not only does it deliver 4WD capability, but the DMO Super Hybrid Technology gives the ability for both SUVs to cover certain distances on electric power.

First up is the B5, which gets a 1.5L turbocharged inline-four that's assisted by a pair of electric motors and a 31.8 kWh battery pack. The electric motors generate a combined 425 kW or 578 PS with 760 Nm of torque and feature a selectable 4WD system with front & rear locking differentials. With a fully-charged battery, Denza claims the B5 can do up to 100 km and can cover up to 975 kilometers with an 83-liter fuel tank. And despite having a curb weight of over 2.8 tons, Denza says the B5 can go from 0 – 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.

Next is the B8, which has a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine and is assisted by dual electric motors plus a 36.8 kWh battery pack. The electric motors generate a combined 450 kW or 611 PS and a healthy 760 Nm of torque. On battery power alone, Denza claims the B8 can cover up to 115 km, based on the NEDC cycle. However, with a 91.5-liter fuel tank, the Denza B8 has a combined system range of up to 1,015 km. Like the B5, the Denza B8 can hit 100 km/h from a standstill in just 4.8 seconds.

When it comes to recharging the B5 and B8, both support AC and DC fast charging, with the latter rated up to 11 kW for both vehicles. As for DC fast charging, the B5 is rated to support up to 100 kW, while the B8 can take more with up to 120kW of charge.

Those who plan to take the B8 off-road will have to take note that the top-of-the-line Premium has front & rear electronic locking differentials. Meanwhile, the Dynamic variant only has a rear electronic locking differential. Despite the difference, both B8 models still come with 4WD.

For extra peace of mind, the B5 and B8 SUVs come with a suite of advanced intelligent driver assistance systems. These give the two Denza models intelligent driver aids such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, rear collision warning, rear-cross traffic alert with automatic braking, blind-spot detection, emergency lane-keep assist, and more.

Available colors for the Denza B5 are Alpine White, Eclipse Black, Glacier Blue, Granite Gray, Juniper Green, and Leopard Gold. On the other hand, the Denza B8 is available in the following hues: Alpine White, Dawn Gold, Eclipse Black, Emerald Green, and Nebula Silver.

The Denza B5 is yours for PHP 3.498 million while the Denza B8 is available in two distinct variants: PHP 4.698 million for the Dynamic and PHP 5.098 million for the top-of-the-line Premium.
