It was not too long ago when BYD produced its 13-millionth New Energy Vehicle (NEV). The company achieved this back in July 2025, when they rolled out the milestone unit, a Yangwang U7 all-electric luxury sedan that produces over 1,300 PS and has a range of up to 720 km.

Then, in December 2025, BYD made its 15-millionth NEV when it rolled out the N8L SUV, a six-seater plug-in hybrid that emphasizes safety, comfort, and agile handling.

Fast forward to April 2026, and BYD has achieved yet another production milestone. This comes after the brand recently built its 16-millionth NEV. Serving as the brand's latest production milestone is a Denza D9 MPV, which rolled off the factory on April 17, 2026.

This marks the brand's continued commitment to producing NEVs, as demand for such vehicles continues to rise. But what makes this particular Denza D9 is the fact that it's powered by the second-generation BYD Blade battery and the latest fast-charging technology. BYD claims that the upgraded Denza D9 can be recharged from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes.

Not only that, but the updated Denza D9 also comes with the latest God's Eye 5.0 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). This gives the MPV more intelligent driver aids for better peace of mind while on the road.

With BYD rolling out its 16-millionth NEV, they're on track to perhaps build the 20-millionth NEV in the coming years.
