Nissan has just revealed a new global crossover SUV, and boy, is it hitting all the right notes.

Say hello to the Nissan Tekton, which recently made its debut in India and is set to serve over 50 global markets. Featuring a Patrol-inspired design, the Nissan Tekton is essentially a rebadged Renault Duster but heavily redesigned by the Japanese automaker for global markets.

Starting with its design, Nissan wasn't shy about borrowing some design cues from their flagship SUV for the Tekton. From the sculpted front fascia to the prominent wheel arches & door panels, as well as the stylish rear end, the Nissan Tekton exudes a sense of style and robustness despite its small size. Speaking of size, the Tekton measures 4348mm long, 1815mm wide, and 1674mm tall on a 2657mm wheelbase. It also has a ground clearance of 212mm, which is more than enough to take on any terrain.

Combined with its distinct silhouette, muscular arches, flush roof rails, short overhangs, two-tone alloy wheels, and generous use of black body cladding, the Tekton gives off SUV vibes despite being a crossover. Also worth mentioning are the window-mounted rear door handles, the C-shaped LED headlights & taillights, and a chrome grille that further highlights the Patrol-inspired design.

Open the doors, and the interior of the Tekton welcomes occupants into a vibrant and dynamic-looking interior. Those who are familiar with the Renault Duster's cabin will find a familiar-looking design, albeit filled with Nissan styling cues. Despite being a small crossover SUV, the Tekton comes with niceties and features one would normally find on bigger vehicles.

For starters, it gets leather upholstery on high-grade models, combined with soft-touch finishes. It is then complemented by white, purple, and copper accents on the range-topping models, which give the Tekton a more premium look & feel. Even the leather-wrapped steering wheel comes with copper accents to further highlight the Tekton's premium aspirations.

When it comes to amenities, the Tekton is available with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Google Built-In and an Arkamys 3D surround sound system. There's also a wireless charger with active cooling, an electronic gear selector for dual-clutch variants, power-adjustable front seats, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, a power tailgate, and dual-zone climate control.

Under the hood, the Tekton is available with either a 1.0L or a 1.3L turbocharged engine. The former is called the T160 and makes 101 PS with 160 Nm of torque, while the latter is dubbed the T280 and produces 163 PS with 280 Nm of torque. Both engines benefit from GT-R-derived Mirror Bore Coating technology to reduce internal friction, as well as improve efficiency and performance. Available transmissions include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

With the Nissan Tekton now available in India, it will soon be available in over 50 global markets under the brand's “One Car, One World” philosophy. However, the question remains whether Nissan Philippines will get its hands on the all-new Tekton.
