Audi has recently launched the RS 5 Avant PHEV in the Philippine market. But over in Europe, the German automaker has been spied putting the finishing touches on another upcoming high-performance wagon.

We’re talking about the next-generation RS 6 Avant PHEV, which was recently spotted undergoing final testing in the Austrian Alps ahead of its global debut next year.

With more aggressive bumpers, fenders, and larger wheels, the camouflage of the next-generation RS 6 Avant PHEV was not of much help in hiding its muscular wagon physique.

Despite earlier rumors suggesting that Audi could move to a different engine configuration, the next RS 6 PHEV is likely to retain its twin-turbocharged V6 powertrain—but this time paired with plug-in hybrid technology in its signature Quattro all-wheel-drive system.

If that sounds familiar, the RS 6 Avant PHEV could share the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 with the RS 5 Avant PHEV, but in a higher state of tune. According to the latest reports, the RS 6 PHEV could produce as much as 750 PS, putting it directly in the crosshairs of the BMW M5. For comparison, the current M5 develops 727 PS from its twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 plug-in hybrid powertrain.

The new RS 6 is also expected to make greater use of carbon fiber, Alcantara, and fine leather throughout the cabin, much like the RS 5 Avant PHEV. This gives the super wagon a more premium and performance-focused character.

The upcoming RS 6 is expected to enter another intensive round of winter testing starting in December before making its world premiere in early 2027. Following its unveiling, market availability is expected to begin sometime in the middle to latter part of 2027.
