After giving the public a glimpse of its all-electric performance crossover SUV at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), BYD Cars Philippines distributor ACMobility has officially revealed the Sealion 7.

Revealed today at the Glorietta 4 Activity Center in Makati City, the BYD Sealion 7 combines sports car-like performance with zero-emissions technology in a crossover package. Measuring 4830mm long, 1925mm wide, and 1620mm tall on a 2930mm wheelbase, the Sealion 7 is a midsize crossover that's sleek and dynamic. It also has 163mm of ground clearance and a turning radius of 5.9 meters.

The front fascia is dominated by a pair of eye-catching LED headlights and daytime running lights, along with an aggressive front bumper. Highlighting its sleek profile is the coupe-like roofline and the floating roof design, which accentuates the Sealion 7's dynamic profile. Also worth mentioning are the huge 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 245/45 series tires. Last but not least, the rear of the Sealion 7 features a unique tailgate, full-width LED taillights, and a sporty rear bumper.

Open the doors, and the Sealion 7 welcomes guests with leather seats and two digital displays. One is a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, while the other is a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen media display that supports wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. Audiophiles will also be happy to know the Sealion 7 comes standard with a 12-speaker Dynaudio system and soundproof glass for better audio fidelity.

Both the driver and front passenger benefit from power-adjustable and ventilated seats for added comfort. However, the driver's seat is the only one to come with a memory function. Meanwhile, the rear seats are 60:40 split-folding and come with a folding center armrest with integrated cupholders.

Those who need to charge their mobile devices but forgot to bring a charging cable can use a 50W wireless charging pad on the center console. Despite having a massive touchscreen, BYD still put some physical controls on the center console for the parking sensors, automatic brake hold, dual-zone climate control, audio system, electronic parking brake, and the drive modes.

Other available features inside the vehicle include a panoramic glass roof, over-the-air updates, an intelligent voice assistant, ambient lighting, front & rear charging ports, the DiLink ecosystem, a power tailgate, smart & keyless entry, speed-sensing door locks, a 360-degree camera with a see-through mode, and a heads-up display.

Need to load up on cargo, the rear seats can be folded flat to provide up to 1,769 liters worth of cargo space. With the rear seats deployed, however, the Sealion 7 can still hold up to 500 liters worth of luggage. In case that is still not enough, it also has a 58-liter frunk to stow smaller items, just in case.

At the heart of the Sealion 7 is a massive 82.6 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery pack that feeds a pair of electric motors, one on each axle. The motors deliver a combined 530 PS with 690 Nm of torque and the ability for the Sealion 7 to sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. On a full charge, BYD says the Sealion 7 has a range of up to 542 km and has selectable drive modes: Economy, Normal, Sport, and Snow. The powertrain also comes with regenerative braking to eke out more range while on the go.

The Sealion 7 supports both AC and DC fast charging. The former supports up to 11 kW and can recharge the EV from 15% to 100% in around 16 hours. On the other hand, the latter is rated to support up to 150 kW and can replenish the battery from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes. It also comes with a portable 7 kW AC charging cable, while a wall-mounted 7 kW charger will be provided to customers. In case you need to power up your devices during a blackout, the Sealion 7 has a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function, complete with a V2L adapter.

For extra peace of mind, the BYD Sealion 7 is equipped with a host of advanced assist systems (ADAS). These include adaptive cruise control, forward & rear collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, front & rear cross traffic alert with autonomous braking, lane-departure assist, blind-spot detection, emergency lane-keeping assist, and driver attention warning.

Other key safety systems available include a tire pressure monitoring system, traction control, hill-hold control, hill-descent control, and a host of airbags (front, side, and side curtain).

Available exterior colors for the BYD Sealion 7 are Aurora White, Cosmos Black, Deep Sea Blue, and Shark Gray. Last but certainly not least, the Sealion 7 retails for PHP 2.588M.

Interested customers can test drive the Sealion 7 and other BYD vehicles at the BYD Tech Tour at the Glorietta 4 Activity Center, which will take place from May 28 to May 31.
