MIAS 2026: A shopper's delight for parts, accessories, and tools
The aftermarket section at MIAS showcases options for car enthusiasts to personalize, enhance, and maintain their vehicles

Opening on a holiday, and despite the sweltering heat that shimmered over the city, the recently concluded 21st Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) roared to life, drawing in major car manufacturers, key industry players, and thousands of passionate enthusiasts year after year.

While new vehicle launches take center stage with the growing popularity of HEVs and EVs, the automotive aftermarket remains one of the show’s most compelling highlights. It vividly reflects how car ownership in the Philippines has evolved beyond mere transportation into a dynamic form of self-expression, performance enhancement, and community.

In the automotive world, “aftermarket” refers to the wide range of parts, accessories, and upgrades added after a vehicle leaves the factory, allowing owners to enhance performance, improve aesthetics, and tailor their vehicles to better suit their needs and personal style.

A major component of these parts include performance enhancements as well as aesthetic modifications such as wheels and tires, window films, overland accessories, and a variety of car care and detailing products.

A significant portion of the aftermarket industry also consists of maintenance components from different spare parts manufacturers, providing essential replacement parts that are fundamental to ensuring a vehicle operates and functions properly.

These are frequently replaced wearable items, such as tires, batteries, air filters, suspension components, and brake pads, were widely available, with numerous booths offering options, vehicle compatibility, and expert advice.

Keeping our cars on the road is a fundamental part of vehicle ownership, one that goes hand in hand with proper care and maintenance. Supporting this need, the aftermarket industry offers a diverse array of car care brands for owners to choose from.

Depending on one's need and budget, there were different types of specialized shampoos, waxes, sealants, and interior care products, all formulated to protect surfaces, enhance shine, and preserve a vehicle’s overall condition over time.

For more discerning enthusiasts, this extends to specialized tools and equipment, such as heavy-duty pressure washers, polishing machines, and paint protection solutions, that allow for a higher level of care, precision, and professional-grade results.

At MIAS, all these elements came together in a vibrant showcase of creativity and technical skill for anyone passionate about cars. Just like the variety of interior and exterior upgrades from different companies that elevate both comfort and looks.

The diverse range of parts and accessories in the aftermarket section of MIAS reflects how local enthusiasts are increasingly investing in modifications. Not only to enhance performance, but also to preserve and maintain their vehicles, while expressing individuality and standing out from the crowd.
