VinFast says its MPV 7 could save owners around PHP 413,000 over three years compared with a conventional internal-combustion engine (ICE) seven-seater, based on the automaker’s Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Calculator.

The web-based calculator estimates PHP 1,502,167 in total ownership costs for an MPV 7 with the battery included over three years. That compares with PHP1,915,148 for what VinFast describes as a common ICE vehicle.

The calculation assumes a driving distance of 1,000 kilometers per month and factors in fuel or energy costs, maintenance, and financing. Based on those assumptions, VinFast puts the projected savings at PHP 412,981, or 22%.

The figures come from VinFast’s TCO Calculator, which was launched in the Philippines in August as a tool for estimating vehicle ownership costs over a set period.

The company is positioning running costs as another consideration for buyers looking at seven-seater vehicles, a segment that continues to attract demand in the Philippines.

Data from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) showed that the AUV and MPV segment posted 43,706 units in sales from January to July 2026. The figure comes as the broader automotive market recorded a year-on-year decline during the same period.

VinFast says the projected savings are also influenced by its EV ownership programs. These include a battery subscription option, free charging through V-Green charging stations until March 2029, and a Residual Value Guarantee program.

The MPV 7 is covered by a seven-year vehicle warranty and a 10-year battery warranty, according to VinFast.

MPV 7 range, charging and cargo space

The MPV 7 uses a 60.13-kWh usable battery and has a claimed range of up to 450 kilometers under the NEDC test cycle. VinFast says DC fast charging can bring the battery from 10% to 70% in around 30 minutes.

As a seven-seater, the MPV 7 has 126 liters of cargo space with all three rows in use. Folding the third row increases capacity to 606 liters, while folding the rear seats provides up to 1,240 liters.

The vehicle also comes with four airbags, electronic stability and traction control, four ADAS features, and ISOFIX anchors for the second row. Rear air vents serve the second and third rows, while four USB ports are provided for passengers.

The TCO figures are based on VinFast's stated assumptions and comparison vehicle. Actual ownership costs can vary depending on electricity and fuel prices, financing terms, maintenance requirements, driving conditions, and annual mileage.
