VinFast gives EV buyers up to 10 years vehicle and battery warranty
VinFast now offers 10-year EV and battery warranty in the Philippines
VinFast is positioning its 10-year vehicle and battery warranty as a key part of its ownership package in the Philippines, addressing concerns over battery life, replacement costs, and long-term reliability as more Filipino motorists consider switching to electric vehicles.
The warranty covers VinFast vehicles for up to 10 years, while battery coverage extends to 10 years or 200,000 kilometers for vehicles purchased with the battery included.
For first-time EV buyers, the decision goes beyond vehicle design, technology, and specifications. Battery longevity and the potential cost of replacement remain among the concerns that can influence the decision to go electric.

A 2026 Deloitte study cited by VinFast found that 41% of Filipino respondents identified the eventual cost of battery replacement as a primary concern when considering an EV. Another 2026 study by Agile Data Solutions found that 20% of Filipino consumers cited battery lifespan and replacement costs as major pain points when considering the switch.
Putting a value on warranty coverage
Longer warranty coverage can have added value for consumers, particularly when buying newer technology with less established reliability records.
An econometric study of the US automotive market found that consumers were willing to pay a median of about USD 850, or roughly PHP 53,000, for an additional year of warranty coverage. The study also found that the value of warranty protection increased for vehicles perceived to have greater reliability uncertainty.
VinFast is applying that longer coverage to the local EV market. For buyers concerned about battery life and potential repair or replacement costs, a 10-year warranty provides protection over a longer ownership period.
The company also offers a Residual Value Guarantee program for eligible first-owner vehicles. Under the program, the guaranteed value can reach 90% of the vehicle’s original net retail price after six months and goes down to 70% after three years.

Warranty as a brand-building tool
A comprehensive warranty can also help newer automotive brands build consumer confidence, particularly when they have a shorter local track record than established manufacturers.
A study covering more than 9,000 used-car auctions found that vehicles sold with a warranty commanded prices 11% higher than those without one. The premium was higher among sellers without an established transaction history.
The issue is relevant as more EV brands enter the Philippine market. PwC’s 2025 ASEAN-6 eReadiness report found that newer EV brands are challenging established automakers in the region, while consumer skepticism remains a hurdle to wider EV adoption in the Philippines.
For VinFast, the warranty is part of a wider ownership package that includes after-sales and charging support.
Backing the warranty with after-sales support
VinFast is also tying its warranty offer to its charging and after-sales network.
The company said it provides free unlimited charging at V-Green stations until March 31, 2029. It also offers a home wall charger with installation and roadside assistance as part of its ownership support.
V-Green currently operates 137 charging stations across 22 key areas in the Philippines, including Cebu and Mindanao.
VinFast’s 10-year warranty covers both the vehicle and, under certain purchase conditions, its battery for up to 10 years or 200,000 kilometers.
