Subaru Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid launching at PIMS 2026
Subaru PH confirms hybrid version of Crosstrek
Subaru Philippines distributor Motor Image Pilipinas Inc. (MIPI) is doubling down on its push to bring more hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) to Filipino customers. Set to make its debut at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) is the Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid.
Not only will the launch signify the brand’s first-ever participation as a member of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI), but it will also build on the established success of the Crosstrek nameplate (formerly called the XV) in the country.

At the heart of the Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid is an electrified 2.0L boxer engine that’s assisted by an electric motor and a high-capacity battery that’s placed longitudinally along the vehicle to maintain its low center of gravity. Subaru says that the powertrain delivers a combined 156 PS at 6000 rpm along with 196 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to all four wheels via the brand’s Lineartronic CVT and Symmetrical AWD system.
Since it’s a hybrid, the electric motor can power the vehicle with a fully charged battery at certain speeds and even while coasting. The engine can recharge the battery while on the go, and the system also benefits from regenerative braking to gather lost energy while coasting or braking to replenish the battery.

Despite having a hybrid powertrain, Subaru says the Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid still has a generous 220mm of ground clearance and the brand’s X-Mode to make the most out of the Symmetrical AWD system. It also has an improved Subaru Global Platform that the automaker claims delivers better driving dynamics and body rigidity, thanks to improved use of structural adhesives and upgraded suspension mounting points.
Other key features available in the Subaru Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid include 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels, a cargo capacity of up to 1,297 liters with the rear seats folded, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a power sunroof, a tablet-inspired 11.6-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, and a wireless charging pad.

For better peace of mind, the electrified Crosstrek will also come with enhanced EyeSight 4.0 ADAS and an emergency driving stop system, which can automatically bring the vehicle to a safe stop if it detects a prolonged period without steering input, indicating a potential emergency.
Subaru will reveal more details and pricing of the 2026 Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid next week when the brand debuts it on June 4, 2026, on the first day of this year’s PIMS.
