Porsche is not resting on its laurels despite the automaker being set to significantly reduce its workforce as parent company Volkswagen goes through a major restructuring and cost-cutting campaign.

Just recently, our spies were able to take pictures of an almost undisguised prototype of a powerful electric Porsche. The mystery vehicle was spotted painted in a bright aquamarine finish and looks to be the Cayenne Turbo Coupe Electric.

Not only does it come with a stylish and aerodynamic exterior thanks to the coupe design, but it has a distinct ducktail spoiler. This could mean the mystery Cayenne Turbo Electric might get the same electric powertrain that pushes over 1,150 HP or perhaps even more. It also has a unique rear bumper with an aerodynamic design and huge Michelin P Zero tires on multi-spoke black alloy wheels.

Other details about the car remain a mystery. But in terms of powertrain, it might get a more powerful set of electric motors and perhaps a bigger battery pack. In comparison, the Cayenne Electric Turbo generates a whopping 1,156 HP and 1,500 Nm of torque. 0 to 100 km/h comes in at 2.5 seconds, while its range is rated to cover up to 623 km.

With Porsche still banking on the popularity of the Cayenne and the appeal of EVs to customers, we're curious if the undisguised prototype our spies were able to capture means the brand is already preparing to launch a hyper electric crossover SUV. We're keeping our fingers crossed it will happen sooner rather than later.
