2026 BAIC B40e Trailmaster rEV 4x4 revealed for PHP
BAIC Philippines distributor United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI) made its presence felt at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) with a new variant of the B40 Trailmaster. But instead of bringing another turbo-diesel version, the automaker brought something special and unique.
Making its Philippine debut is the 2026 BAIC B40e Trailmaster rEV, and it’s got some tricks up its sleeves. Unlike the regular B40 Trailmaster, the B40e is electrified and is mechanically related to the B60e Beaumont, which was revealed at MIAS 2025. That’s right, the B40e Trailmaster rEV comes with a pair of electric motors and a turbocharged engine that serves as the 4x4’s onboard generator.

The B40e’s powertrain consists of dual electric motors that give the vehicle its 4x4 capability. The motors produce a combined 540 PS with 655 Nm of torque and are powered by a 40.3 ternary lithium-ion battery pack. This allows the B40e to sprint from 0 - 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and has an electric range of up to 152 km, based on the CLTC cycle. As mentioned earlier, the B40e comes with a 1.5L turbocharged engine, which serves as an onboard generator that recharges the 40.3 kWh battery pack. With an 82-liter fuel tank, this gives the B40e a combined range of up to 1,200 km.
The B40e supports up to 40 kW of fast DC charging. With it, BAIC claims the battery can be recharged from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes. It also supports 6.6 kW of AC charging, which can fully recharge the battery from 0% in about 7 hours.

Despite being electrified, the B40e Trailmaster rEV is a 4x4 through and through. The dual electric motors serve as its electric 4WD system and come with several off-road drive modes: Snow, Crossing, Sand, Mud, Rock, and Wading. It also has three standard drive modes: Economy, Comfort, and Sport. Speaking of wading, the B40e Trailmaster rEV is rated to wade waters as high as 750mm and has 210mm of ground clearance.

Size-wise, the B40e Trailmaster rEV measures 4790mm long, 1940mm wide, and 1915mm tall, with a 2760mm wheelbase. The body-on-frame 4x4 also has a curb weight of 2,640 kg, a cargo capacity of up to 965 liters (532 liters if the rear seats are deployed), and 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 275/55 Maxxis all-terrain tires. For easier ingress & egress, the B40e comes with retractable step boards, which is always a plus.
Climb aboard the B40e, and the vehicle welcomes occupants into a comfy and feature-packed cabin. Both the driver and front passenger benefit from power-adjustable seats that come with cooling and massage functions. The driver’s seat even benefits from a memory function for extra comfort. In addition, all of the seats are wrapped in leather, as well as the steering wheel.

The B40e’s dashboard is festooned with three high-resolution displays. First up is a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster that sits in front of the driver and comes with a Dynamic Off-road display when going off the beaten path. Next are two 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment displays - one sits on the center dashboard, while the other is in front of the front passenger. The system supports phone mirroring, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity.
Other available features inside the B40e include a 50W wireless charging pad, a 12-speaker Infinity sound system, USB-C and USB-A charging ports, two 220V power outlets for the rear passengers, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, remote engine start with keyless entry, rain-sensing wipers, power-adjustable steering column, a 360-degree camera system with a 180-degree transparent chassis view, and an automatic stop/start system to make the most out of the engine and battery pack while on the go.

When it comes to intelligent driver aids, the B40e comes with a plethora of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). These include traffic jam assist, front & rear collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-change assist, blind-spot monitoring, intelligent high-beams, rear-cross traffic with autonomous braking, and adaptive cruise control.
The BAIC B40e Trailmaster rEV comes with a bumper-to-bumper 5-year or 150,000 km warranty for both the vehicle and the battery, as well as a free 3-year roadside assistance.

Available colors for the B40e are: Future Gray, Jet Black, Jungle Green, Mineral Yellow, and Snowy White.
