Jetour Soueast S08 7-seater PHEV gets DOE recognition
Jetour Auto PH doubles down on PHEV models with upcoming S08 i-DM
Jetour Auto Philippines Inc. (JAPI) has been quite busy of late when it comes to electrified vehicles. While they already have the T1, T2, X70, Dashing, and G700 i-DM plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models, that doesn't mean they have been resting on their laurels.
Heck, Jetour has already secured PHEV recognition from the Department of Energy (DOE) for the upcoming F700 flagship pickup truck, as well as a 4WD PHEV version of the T2. In the future, Jetour's electrified lineup will include another 7-seater plug-in hybrid that could sit alongside the X70 Lightning.

Recently, the DOE updated its list of recognized PHEVs in the country and has added the Jetour S08 i-DM. It's a crossover SUV that comes from Chery's Soueast sub-brand and measures 4810mm long, 1930mm wide, and 1705mm tall on a 2820mm wheelbase. It has a curb weight of over 2,040 kg, a minimum ground clearance of 160mm, and can seat seven people comfortably.
In terms of its powertrain, the S08 i-DM has a 1.5L turbocharged engine that makes 105 kW (142 PS) and mostly serves as a generator for the 18.4 kWh battery pack. The battery then powers a single electric motor that puts out 150 kW (204 PS). On battery power alone, Jetour says the S08 i-DM can cover up to 85 km, based on the WLTC cycle. While Jetour did not reveal its total system range, we won't be surprised if the S08 i-DM can easily do up to 1,000 km with a fully charged battery and a full 70 liters of gas.

Style-wise, the Jetour S08 i-DM features a Patrol-like front fascia with distinct LED headlights & daytime running lights. It also has a bold front grille with horizontal slats and a blacked-out lower air intake on the bumper. It also features massive 20-inch alloy wheels with a two-tone finish, black body cladding, stylish LED taillights, and curvaceous doors.

In other markets where the S08 i-DM is already on sale, the 7-seater PHEV comes with a massive 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, a full leather upholstery, a digital instrument panel, a 50W wireless charging pad, a panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable front seats with heating & cooling functions, a 12-speaker sound system, folding table trays for the second-row passengers, and flat-folding second- and third-row seats to allow drivers to carry long loads with ease.

With Jetour Auto PH already securing PHEV recognition for the S08 i-DM, the automaker is going all out to introduce more plug-in hybrids to Filipino customers.
