Back in June, Honda launched a Limited Edition Prelude e:HEV model in Japan that made the hybrid sports coupe a bit more dapper-looking, a bit more suave, and a bit more polished with its exclusive exterior paint and interior upholstery.

Now Honda is saying the response to this model is “overwhelming” in its home market, and that they decided to offer the tito-fied Prelude outside Japan. That’s right. Honda has announced the Prelude Limited Edition is coming to Europe, presumably to target those who want that vibe of an Aston Martin or a Jaguar GT in a more compact, more fuel-efficient, and a bit more reachable package.

Much like the Japanese market version, the Prelude Limited Edition comes with the Premium Crystal Garnet Metallic paint, which Honda says further accentuates the fluid contours of the Prelude’s body. Gone are the blue colors on the Brembo brake calipers and the bumpers, as they’ve been changed to red for this version.

It’s the same story inside for the Europe-spec Prelude Limited Edition, except that the steering wheel is now on the left, rather than the right. The use of Bordeaux-colored upholstery has made the Prelude’s interior much more upscale than the standard model, with red contrast stitching also added to the steering wheel, center console, the front seats, the door lining pad, and the dashboard. The Prelude logo is also embroidered on the dashboard, which Honda says gives the impression that each has been hand-signed, but it’s not.

Under the hood, the Prelude Limited Edition remains powered by the 2.0-liter e:HEV powertrain, producing 184 PS and 315 Nm, and comes with the patented Honda S+ shift system for its e-CVT.

Honda is yet to announce production numbers for the Prelude Limited Edition in Europe, so we won’t know how limited it is yet. The same goes with pricing. But now that Honda is offering it in LHD markets, there’s good reason to think it could make its way to our market. Of course, expect a much higher price tag than the standard Prelude if it does happen.
