It's been less than a year since Honda launched the all-new Prelude e:HEV. It then arrived in the Philippine market earlier this year with one heck of a price tag at PHP 3.498 million, excluding the special color fee you'll have to pay extra for.

Over in Japan, however, the automaker has just released a special model of the electrified coupe. Say hello to the Honda Prelude 2027 Limited Edition, and it gets a nice shade of color, along with plenty of subtle upgrades that make it stand out from the regular version.

Beginning with the most obvious, the 2027 Limited Edition is painted in an exclusive color called “Premium Crystal Garnet Metallic”, which gives the Prelude a wine-like hue. Honda even claimed that the exclusive paint “pursues luster and depth” compared to the regular color palette. Even the front upper grille is finished in the same color to go along with the rest of the exterior.

Meanwhile, the front and rear bumper accents are finished in bright red, which provides a bit of contrast to the Premium Crystal Garnet Metallic hue. Last but not least, the exterior of the 2027 Limited Edition also features red brake calipers and gloss-black alloy wheels.

Open the doors, and the Prelude 2027 Limited Edition comes with a Bordeaux trim on the leather seats, center armrest, door armrest pads, and parts of the dashboard. Even the embroidered “Prelude” logo on the dashboard gets a similar Bordeaux trim to remind everyone this is no ordinary coupe. There's also a red contrast stitching on the seats and steering wheel to give the vehicle a sportier appearance.

Under the hood, the Prelude 2027 Limited Edition gets the same 2.0L e:HEV powertrain that's assisted by an electric motor. The engine produces 141 PS with 182 Nm of torque, while the electric motor puts out 184 PS with 315 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to the front wheels via an e-CVT, which comes with Honda's S+ shift technology that can simulate gear shifts like an automatic transmission.

The Honda Prelude 2027 Limited Edition is selling for JPY 6,306,300 or for around PHP 2,378,475. Since it's a special model, we won't be surprised if Honda only offers this particular Prelude in limited numbers.
