When GWM Philippines made its presence felt at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), they previewed not one, not two, but a total of three vehicles. They already launched the H7 HEV/PHEV crossover SUV, which starts at a budget-friendly PHP 1,298,888.

Now, it looks like the automaker is already making preparations for its next vehicle. But instead of a hybrid or a PHEV, GWM's next offering may come in the form of an electric vehicle (EV). After being previewed at this year's MIAS, the Ora 5 is now on GWM Philippines' website, and its initial specifications have also been revealed.

Based on what GWM has revealed so far, the PH-spec Ora 5 will come with a 58.3 kWh battery pack, which gives it a range of up to 580 km based on the NEDC standard. This then powers a single electric motor that pushes out 201 PS with 260 Nm of torque and drives the front wheels. Size-wise, the Ora 5 measures 4471mm long, 1833mm wide, and 1641mm tall on a 2720mm wheelbase.

Inside, the Ora 5 comes with a massive 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment display that runs on the latest Coffee OS by GWM. Not only does it come with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, but it also comes with plenty of smart features like intelligent 3D navigation and managing the advanced driver assist systems (ADAS). The cabin also features a panoramic glass roof, a wireless charging pad, heated & ventilated front seats, 64-color ambient lighting, leather upholstery, and a 10.25-inch instrument display.

For extra peace of mind, the Ora 5 has plenty of intelligent driver aids to keep occupants safe at all times. These include forward & rear collision warning, front & rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane-change assist, blind-spot detection, traffic sign recognition, and speed limit warning function.

With the Ora 5 coming soon to the Philippines, we're curious how GWM Philippines will price the electric crossover against its possible rivals like the BYD Atto 3, Jaecoo J5 EV, and more.
