GWM CTO Nicole Wu visits PH, reaffirms brand's new energy vehicle push
GWM CTO Nicole Wu shares how brand's Intelligent New Energy lineup fits PH setting

Great Wall Motors Philippines continues to strengthen its push into the local market, recently welcoming Nicole Wu, the brand’s Chief Technology Officer, for her first official visit to the country.
A key figure in GWM’s global R&D, Wu works closely with Chairman Jack Wey in shaping the company’s long-term direction as it transitions into a mobility technology firm. During her visit, she highlighted the growing role of intelligent systems and electrified powertrains in the future of driving.
In her speech at the recently concluded MIAS 2026, Wu said “The future of mobility is not just electrified, it is intelligent, adaptive, and built around real-world user scenarios,”
Central to this vision is GWM’s Intelligent New Energy lineup, highlighted by its Hybrid Intelligent 4WD system. At the forefront is the Hi4 hybrid platform, designed for urban driving while delivering all-wheel-drive capability. It combines a dual-motor setup with a two-speed series-parallel hybrid architecture to maximize efficiency and performance, as seen in models such as the GWM Haval H7.
For tougher conditions, the Hi4-Z and Hi4-T platforms deliver enhanced off-road capability. They feature intelligent power distribution paired with a three-speed transmission for improved control across varied terrain. With a non-decoupled 4WD system and a nine-speed parallel hybrid architecture, these platforms provide maximum traction, durability, and strong self-recovery performance.
As the company expands locally, GWM says it remains committed to delivering intelligent and electrified mobility solutions tailored to Filipino drivers.
