The Urban Cruiser is offered in the Philippine market as a gateway model towards owning a Toyota electric vehicle. With energy efficiency being a key factor for BEVs, Toyota wants to ensure you’re getting the right numbers with the model.

Toyota Motor Philippines has issued a recall for the Urban Cruiser, affecting 17 units which were made from November 27, 2025 to April 11, 2026. TMP says the issue stems with the vehicle’s Integrated Display System Software.

Due to a defect in the IDS, the average power consumption (average energy efficiency) calculation logic is incorrect, which may cause the average energy efficiency displayed on the meter to be lower than the actual average energy efficiency. The recall will basically recalibrate the IDS ECU of the Urban Cruiser to display more accurate numbers.

Toyota Motor Philippines will notify involved customers through an Official Notification Letter and will be invited by authorized Toyota Dealers to reprogram the IDS ECU at no charge to the vehicle owners. Involved customers with vehicles included in the service campaign are highly encouraged to immediately set an appointment with any authorized Toyota dealer to perform the necessary repair and prevent problems from occurring.

Other customers may also check if their vehicles are included in any active Service Campaign for Toyota models at https://www.toyota.com.ph/service-campaign.
