Chery Auto Philippines (CAP) recently gathered top service technicians, service advisors, and parts specialists from its dealer network nationwide for the Chery Skills Festival, a program designed to sharpen technical expertise and elevate overall aftersales quality.

The initiative centers on Chery's "Fix It Right the First Time" philosophy, which aims to boost workshop efficiency, eliminate repeat repair visits, and deliver a better service experience for vehicle owners. Through practical evaluations and knowledge challenges, participants demonstrated their capabilities across key aftersales disciplines.

CAP Vice President for Customer Service Division Lito Landicho emphasized that the aftersales team plays a vital role in building driver confidence. He noted that the event serves to recognize individual expertise while raising service benchmarks across all dealerships, ensuring every customer receives accurate care from qualified professionals.

For owners, the program provides added peace of mind by ensuring that dealership staff undergo continuous assessment against high factory standards. For the distributor, the festival serves as a benchmark to measure dealer competency and pinpoint areas for ongoing training.

Support for these service initiatives is backed by the official local distributor, United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated (UAAGI), bringing 20 years of local automotive industry experience. UAAGI maintains an extensive network of over 100 dealerships and service centers across its brand portfolio, supported by dedicated parts supply facilities, including a two-hectare warehouse in Valenzuela and a distribution center in Clark. The distributor also operates a Center for Technical Excellence to provide ongoing training in general mechanics and new energy vehicle technologies.

The festival concluded by recognizing top performers across each service category. Yvette V. De Vera of Chery Commonwealth took top honors as Service Advisor Champion, while Paulo A. Ortiz of Chery Sta. Rosa claimed the Technician Champion title. Both de Vera and Ortiz will represent the Philippines at the upcoming Chery International Skills Olympics in China, competing against global aftersales personnel. Jonathan F. Valdez of Chery La Union was also awarded Partsman Champion.

CAP noted that investments in human resource development complement its comprehensive ownership package, which includes up to a 7-year or 200,000-kilometer bumper-to-bumper warranty, an 8-year or 160,000-kilometer battery warranty for hybrid models, and three years of roadside assistance.
