Lexus LS400 from Street Fighter bonus stage recreated in real life

For generations of gamers who grew up feeding coins in arcade machines, you’d probably recognize Street Fighter II’s infamous bonus stage, where players are tasked to destroy a car that loosely resembled a Lexus LS400.

Now, the same car that players repeatedly punched, kicked and smashed has been recreated in real life as part of a promotional campaign for the release of the live action Street Fighter movie.

The project was commissioned by U.S. insurance company The General, with Hollywood vehicle builder Vehicle Effects handling the build. Starting with a 1994 Lexus LS400, the team gave the luxury sedan a pixelated makeover inspired by its appearance in the classic Street Fighter II arcade game.

Rather than relying solely on a graphic wrap, the car features three-dimensional, blocky body elements designed to mimic the original 16-bit artwork, making it look like the LS400 was indeed pulled out from an arcade machine screen.

Inside the cabin, the LS400 gets redesigned upholstery with “YOU” and “WIN” embroidered into the front headrests, while a coin-slot-style control serves as the seat heater switch. Despite its game-inspired appearance, the car remains fully functional and retains its 4.0-liter V8 engine.

In the original Street Fighter II bonus stage, players were challenged to destroy the parked sedan within a limited amount of time, turning the LS400 into a virtual punching bag. And in the film's trailers, it has already shown a live-action recreation of the famous car-destroying bonus stage.

In fact, one lucky winner can take home the Street Fighter Bonus Stage car as The General is putting it up as a lottery grand prize, along with USD 25,000 worth of gas money. The winner will be chosen on November 18.

The new Street Fighter movie stars Andrew Koji as Ryu, Noah Centineo as Ken Masters and Callina Liang as Chun-Li, with Jason Momoa, 50 Cent and Cody Rhodes also among the cast. The worldwide theatrical premiere is set for October 16, 2026.
