Abarth 124 Spider, Shaggy, Sting in a music video is both weird and cool
Odd collab between Sting and Shaggy sees them drive down Miami in a Abarth 124 Spider
Collaborations between artists for songs are very common, but it's not everyday you'd hear Shaggy and Sting work together. It might even sound like a weird reggae fusion and rock mashup. It's pretty much like the odd partnership between iconic car brands Mazda and Fiat which brought about the stylish MX-5-based 124 Spider, which debuted in the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The two music icons recently released an 80's-themed 'Miami Vice'-inspired music video for their song 'Gotta Get Back My Baby', which features an Abarth 124 Spider.
In the music video, the Spider takes on the starring role as the ride of both Sting and Shaggy, who happen to be portraying two Miami detectives. To complete the Miami cops look, the two even convinced their Captain that they were going to "need the Spider". Overall, the music video has an 80's and 90's theme and vibe which is a nod to the classic television series and movies such as Miami Vice.
While the Abarth 124 Spider may not have the same power as a Lamborghini or Ferrari spiders, it certainly does the job just as well when you just want to cruise with the top down in Miami as seen in the video.
“We continue to strive for the unexpected in our marketing efforts across all FCA brands and, certainly here, the FIAT brand’s fun-spirited personality gives us the opportunity to be just a little bit more adventurous and playful in our approach with our music partners. The Fiat 124 Spider Abarth is incredibly honored to play the role of sidekick to such legendary and audacious artists as Sting and Shaggy in their latest music video,” said Olivier Francois, Chief Marketing Officer and Head of the FIAT Brand, FCA.

We did some more "googling" and discovered that Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) also collaborated with the duo for another title. The two used a 2019 Jeep Wrangler Sahara in another music video for the song 'Don't Make Me Wait', out off the same album.
