2026 Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup returns July 11
Leg 2 to be held at Clark International Speedway
After months of being put on pause because of the fuel crisis, the Green flag is set to be waved once again for the 2026 Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup.
Toyota Motor Philippines’ longest-running racing series is returning to action on July 11, 2026, at the Clark International Speedway. This time out, there will be a twist, as alternative fuels will be used on the Tamaraw and Vios one-make race cars.
The first round of the TGR Philippine Cup was held last March on a street race at Riverpark in Cavite, where the Tamaraw OMRs were raced competitively for the first time. However, tensions in the Middle East prompted the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) to postpone all their sanctioned motorsports activities.
But now that AAP has resumed most of its sanctioned motorsports activities, the TGR Philippine Cup’s organizers have been given the green light to push through with holding the second leg at Clark International Speedway. Likewise, even non-AAP sanctioned racing events in the country have also resumed such as the Makabayan Endurance Race Series and Super Sprint, where the use of alternative fuels are also encouraged for competitors.
TMP has stated that the TGR Philippine Cup will be a rolling laboratory where alternative fuels such as ethanol and biodiesel will be put to the test in racing conditions to help drive innovation forward.
