GAC is putting its bet on the Aion UT as its entry-level BEV for the Philippine market. But for those who want more ruggedness and more ground clearance out of the hatchback, well say no more.

Making its debut at the 2026 Paris Motor Show is the GAC Aion UT Cross – a light outdoor crossover BEV that combines the flexibility of a hatchback, the spaciousness of an estate wagon, and better confidence in rough terrain.

The Cross kit adds a wheel arch cladding and a roof rack to the Aion UT to make it look more rugged and ready for the outdoors. Ground clearance is 20 mm taller than the existing Aion UT hatchback, with wider 225 mm tires along with a new blacked-out wheel design.

According to GAC, the Aion UT Cross delivers up to 400 km of range using the WLTP cycle, and fast charging from 30 to 80% takes only 24 minutes.

For now, GAC is yet to announce plans of offering the Aion UT Cross outside the European market where it was launched. Hopefully, we hear more from GAC and its plans about this light outdoor crossover BEV in the coming days or weeks.
