After revealing the initial specs and prices, Chery’s most affordable electrified turbocharged crossover has officially been revealed. Say hello to the 2024 Chery Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid.

Not only does Chery’s B-segment crossover get a more powerful and more efficient engine under the hood, but the Tiggo 5X gets the Pro treatment which gives it a sleeker exterior, as well as a more feature-packed cabin. In addition, there’s also a non-hybrid version called the Comfort that gets additional exterior and interior goodies.

Starting with the exterior, the Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid gets the new Diamond Galaxy grille, LED headlights, double-row style LED foglights, and LED daytime running lights. Also worth mentioning are the sporty red accents on certain parts of the crossover and the 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels which are exclusive only to the Hybrid version.

The non-hybrid Tiggo 5X Pro Comfort also gets the new Diamond Galaxy grille and LED lighting but not the red accents. In addition, the regular Pro variant only comes with smaller 17-inch alloy wheels. Size-wise, both variants measure 4358mm long, 1830mm wide, 1670mm tall, and have a 2630mm wheelbase. Ground clearance, on the other hand, is rated at 196mm.

Hop inside and the Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid greets occupants with leather seats, sporty red accents that reflect the ones on the exterior, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. For extra eye candy, it even gets multi-color ambient lighting that enhances cabin ambiance.

When it comes to infotainment, all variants get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Not only does it support Bluetooth connectivity, but it also gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Hybrid version gets 6 speakers while the Comfort variant only comes with 4 speakers.

Other available amenities present in the crossover include a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, smart keyless entry, heated power-folding side mirrors, tilt/telescopic steering column, a 360-degree around-view monitor (Hybrid only), a power sunroof, and a wireless charging pad for mobile phones.

As mentioned before, the Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid comes with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that’s assisted by a 48V belt-starter generator (BSG). This gives the electrified crossover a system output of 156 PS with 230 Nm of torque and is mated to a CVT driving the front wheels. It even benefits from auto start/stop to maximize fuel efficiency, as well as a multi-link rear suspension for improved handling.

As for the regular Tiggo 5X Pro, it gets a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated inline-four carried over from the non-Pro version. It puts out a humble 114 PS with 141 Nm of torque and is also connected to a CVT powering the front wheels. Moreover, the rear multi-link suspension is replaced with a simpler torsion beam setup.

A long list of safety features come as standard across all variants of the Chery Tiggo 5X Pro. These include anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, an electronic stability program, a traction control system, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, tire pressure monitoring, cruise control, and a reverse camera.

Available colors for the 2024 Chery Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid and Comfort variants are Black, Blue, Gray, Red, Silver, and White.
