South peeps will need to load up more credits into their Autosweep RFIDs this coming Wednesday.

The Toll Regulatory Board has announced that the 2nd tranche of the periodic toll rate adjustment on SLEX and STAR Tollway is taking effect on July 1, 2026. Signs have been put up on toll exits around these expressways in the past few weeks, but now we have a clearer picture of the exact figures of the increase.

At the Alabang to Calamba section, there will be an additional toll rate of PHP 11.00, PHP 21.00, and PHP 32.00 for Class 1, 2, and 3, respectively. That means motorists traveling from Alabang to Calamba will have to pay PHP 137 for Class 1, PHP 274, for Class 2, and PHP 411 for Class 3.

Calamba to Sto. Tomas section

On the section of Calamba to Sto. Tomas, that connects SLEX to STAR Tollway, there will be an additional toll rate of PHP 3.00, PHP 6.00, and PHP 9.00 for Class 1, 2, and 3, respectively. The toll charge will be PHP 37 for Class 1, PHP 74 for Class 2, and PHP 111 for Class 3 in this section come July 1.

Different rate increases will also be imposed at the STAR Tollway this coming Wednesday. For Section 1 of the STAR Tollway that starts from Sto. Tomas to Lipa (Tambo Exit), there will be an additional rate of PHP 4.00, PHP 9.00, and PHP 13.00 for Class 1, 2 & 3. This raises toll rates to PHP 64 for Class 1, PHP 128 for Class 2, and PHP 192 for Class 3 from Sto. Tomas to Lipa.

Sto. Tomas to Lipa Section, STAR Tollway

For Section 2 of the STAR Tollway that begins from Lipa (Tambo Exit) to Batangas City, there will be a toll rate increase of PHP 4.00, PHP 8.00 and PHP 12.00 for Class 1, 2 & 3, respectively. This means motorists will have to shell out PHP 57 for Class 1, PHP 114 for Class 2, and PHP 171 for Class 3 when going from Lipa City to Batangas City using STAR Tollway.

Adding up all of this together, going from Alabang to Lipa City using the two expressways will cost motorists PHP 238 for Class 1, PHP 476 for Class 2, and 714 for Class 3.

For those going end-to-end from Alabang to Batangas City, motorists will pay PHP 295 for Class 1, PHP 590 for Class 2, and PHP 885 for Class 3 by July 1.

TRB says the adjustment will redound to the benefit of the expressway users by way of a safer, faster and more convenient travels, but the current road conditions at SLEX and STAR Tollway still have widened sections yet to be paved with asphalt, major sections without street lights, potholes, and plenty of broken pavement that causes motorists to zigzag on different lanes, accelerating wear to both tires and suspension components of vehicles.
