Toyota has revealed the highest and most track-focused GR Corolla yet.

The Japanese automaker has premiered the GRMN Corolla – a limited edition version of the brand’s five-door AWD hot hatch that was honed at the famous Green Hell, the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit.

Special efforts have been invested in the car by Gazoo Racing to increase the level of performance the GR Corolla can achieve, incorporating lessons gained from racing in Super Taikyu and fine-tuning at the Nurburgring. As a result, the GRMN Corolla features enhancements to the engine, aerodynamics, and drivetrain, along with significant weight savings for a better power-to-weight ratio.

On the outside, the GRMN Corolla differs from the standard model with exclusively developed aerodynamic performance parts for better aerodynamics. These are found on the hood duct, fender ducts and front side spoilers, while the rear wing gets 5 degrees of manual adjustment.

Inside, the rear seats have been removed, and special lightweight one-piece full bucket seats have been placed in front, making the GRMN Corolla 30 kg lighter than the standard model. Other special items include special graphics for the digital instrument cluster, dashboard padding that bears the Morizo signature, red trims on the doors and shift knob, as well as a GRMN special serial number plate.

The 1.6-liter G16E-GTS three-cylinder turbo retains its peak power at 304 PS, but peak torque has been increased from 400 to 415 Nm for the GRMN Corolla, especially in the mid rpm range. For sustained track driving, the GRMN Corolla has also been fitted with an intercooler spray system to keep charge temperatures consistent, and a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission was fitted to keep the GRMN Corolla at peak power bands when driven at the track.

Toyota also tweaked the suspension by fitting new monotube dampers with rebound springs for better traction, along with fitting 245/40ZR18 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires that are 10mm wider than the standard GR Corolla set.

Speaking of handling, the EPS and GR-Four AWD system were also retuned to improve steering feel and improve torque distribution, while extra structural adhesives and an added strut brace inside have further stiffened the GRMN Corolla’s chassis for track use.

Toyota says the GRMN Corolla will only be available in limited quantities, with Japan, North America, and Australia being the priority markets. Sales are scheduled to begin in 2027.

In case you like something with just two pedals, though, Toyota has also announced a GR Corolla Morizo RR is in the works, which has the 8-speed direct shift automatic transmission fitted and comes with seating for five.
