Remember when Toyota celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Corolla in Japan? Not only did the Japanese automaker give it some exterior and interior upgrades, but the 60th Anniversary special also marks six decades of the Corolla as one of the most popular Toyota vehicles.

But if you thought Toyota was done with the anniversary specials, they recently released another special edition, and we're digging the color. To give buyers more interest in celebrating the Corolla's 60th anniversary, Toyota has given the Corolla Sport hatchback the birthday treatment as well.

Instead of having a regular coat of white, silver, or black, Toyota gave the Corolla Sport G Z Active Elegance plenty of exterior and interior upgrades. Starting with the most obvious, this particular Corolla Sport gets an exclusive Black & Mustard two-tone paint finish. In a sea of neutral colors, the Black & Mustard makes the Corolla Sport pop and have a more youthful vibe.

Other exterior changes present on the Corolla Sport G Z Active Elegance include two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels, 60th anniversary emblems on the front fenders, and faux chrome elements on the front & rear bumpers.

Open the doors, and the Corolla Sport gets leather upholstery with Brannove, which is a suede-like material. These are then applied to the seats, which come with a Chateau and Black finish, giving the interior a more sophisticated look & feel. In addition, the Corolla's interior gets Smoke Silver accents and 60th anniversary logos on the dashboard to give it a more dynamic appearance. Last but not least, it's equipped with aluminum pedals and sport seats.

Under the hood, the Corolla gets the carried-over 1.8L hybrid powertrain, which makes a combined 140 PS and is mated to an e-CVT that drives the front wheels.

While there's little to no chance of the Corolla Sport hatchback making its way here, we can only imagine the 60th anniversary special's Black & Mustard paint being used on the GR Corolla.
