A British FV432 armored personnel carrier is selling for PHP 1.8 million
Whenever you find something on Facebook or on Facebook Marketplace, you can sometimes find the weirdest items on sale. From rare collectibles to everyday items, Facebook has something you might be looking for.
What we weren’t expecting to see is this: a British FV432 armored personnel carrier (APC) that’s selling for less than PHP 2 million. No, we’re not kidding. It’s listed with a selling price of PHP 1.8 million, and the seller says it’s in good running condition. It also has a diesel engine and has a manual gearbox.

So how did an APC such as this find its way to the Philippines? With a bit of research and asking around, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) apparently made use of a single FV432 several years ago. The FV432 was supposedly acquired via a local importer (likely Subic-based importers). While it saw some use, the AFP ultimately retired its sole FV432 APC.
However, some operators like the PNP-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) also made use of several British FV432 APCs. And just like the AFP, the PNP-SAF apparently got a hold of them via local importers and military surplus sellers.
Despite the APC being up for sale, we’re not entirely sure about the legality of purchasing or selling an APC or other retired military vehicles. However, vehicles such as this APC may be legal, provided it’s no longer armed and has already been declared as scrap for sale by the military branch/operator that used to own it.

As for the FV432 APC, it has been in service since 1963 and continues to be operated by several countries like the United Kingdom (UK), Mozambique, and even Ukraine after the UK provided an unspecified number of Mark 3 Bulldogs to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
It has a maximum armor thickness of 12.7mm or 0.5 inches and has a 7.62mm machine gun as its main armament. However, it can also use different types of ordnance for offensive and defensive purposes, like recoilless rifles, mortars, gun turrets, and even anti-tank missiles.
If you happen to have PHP 2 million burning a hole in your pocket and want a piece of military hardware, we’ve linked the seller in this article. Just be sure to check any legal matters before purchasing the APC so you're in the clear.
