The local electric and electrified vehicle landscape is about to get a bit more crowded, and a lot boxier. Another new energy vehicle brand, iCaur from the Wuhu-based Chery Auto umbrella, has officially announced its upcoming entry into the Philippine market; the local brand launch is slated for October.
The brand arrives on Philippine shores boasting strong momentum in regional markets, having led Southeast Asia’s boxy NEV segment for several consecutive months. Backed by global sales surpassing 100,000 units, the automaker aims to offer local car buyers a distinct mobility alternative focused on lasting design, integrated technology, and daily usability.

According to the brand, the letter "i" in its name stands for "Inner Self," "Intellect," "Imagine," and "Interactive". Rather than chasing short-lived styling trends or over-the-top design gimmicks, iCaur frames its design language around the concept that "classic never fades." Its vehicles lean on boxy, restrained proportions paired with clean, timeless lines. On the inside, the company emphasizes functional, seamlessly integrated technology that prioritizes ease of use over complex, distracting displays.
Beyond the metal, the brand also places a heavy emphasis on owner personalization and lifestyle culture, encouraging drivers to modify their vehicles to suit their personal tastes. That ethos is tied directly into its global owners group, known as the i-CLUB community.
When iCaur officially makes its local debut in October, it will roll out two distinct models to launch its Philippine lineup.

The first is the iCaur V23, an all-electric, boxy crossover that serves as the brand's global flagship. The V23 has driven much of the brand's regional sales success with its blend of retro-inspired styling and modern EV tech.

Joining the V23 is the iCaur V27, an all-rounder SUV powered by the brand's "Golden REEV" range-extended electric vehicle platform. The V27 combines electric motor drive with an onboard generator, aiming to cater to Filipino buyers seeking the efficiency of an EV alongside the long-distance peace of mind provided by a range extender.
The brand will be distributed locally by Omoda Jaecoo Philippines, a subsidiary company of Chinese automaker Chery. Despite being distributed by OJ Philippines, the company says the vehicles will be sold in independent dealerships. More details regarding local specifications, pricing, dealership footprints, and official dealer partners for iCaur in the Philippines are expected to be revealed closer to its October launch.
