Changan Auto has officially announced its transition to a direct operating model in the Philippines. Under this new organizational structure, the Chinese automaker will take full responsibility for the brand’s end-to-end local operations, encompassing sales, aftersales, marketing, dealer network development, and overall customer experience.

This development was first reported on AutoIndustriya.com, two weeks ago. Changan will be the third Chinese automaker to take over the local distribution of its brand in the Philippines so far.

This strategic pivot reinforces Changan’s long-term commitment to strengthening its presence in the Philippine market and delivering a more integrated, consistent, and enhanced experience for both vehicle owners and dealer partners.

In a token statement, Changan expressed its "sincere appreciation to Inchcape Philippines for its passion, dedication, and valuable contribution in establishing and growing the Changan brand locally. We recognize and appreciate the efforts of the entire Inchcape team in building the brand and serving its customers and dealership network over the past three years."

To ensure a smooth transition for customers and dealers who invested in the brand, Changan said it will continue to work closely with Inchcape Philippines during the interim period. This is to guarantee uninterrupted support and service for customers and dealers while Changan establishes its Philippine subsidiary and prepares for the full implementation of its direct operating model.
