Kia just made its presence felt at this year's Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) with several vehicle launches and previews. But one nameplate immediately stood out from the rest.

That vehicle is the all-new second-generation Kia Seltos, which was recently revealed for the Indonesian market. This marks the first time the latest B-segment crossover SUV has made its way to Southeast Asia after it made its global debut in Korea late last year.

For the Indonesian market, the all-new Seltos is only available with one engine, a 1.5L Smartstream naturally aspirated inline-four with Dual CVVT. It makes 115 PS at 6300 rpm along with 144 Nm of torque at 4500 rpm. Those familiar with the Creta and Stargazer's 1.5L engine will find the output figures similar. Power is then sent to the front wheels via the brand's Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).

Size-wise, the all-new Seltos received quite the growth spurt, thanks to the new K3 platform. It measures 4460mm long, 1830mm wide, and 1635mm tall on a 2690mm wheelbase. In comparison, the current Seltos in the Philippines measures 4385mm long, 1800mm wide, and has a 2630mm wheelbase (height is the same).

In terms of looks, the all-new Seltos features the brand's latest “Opposites United” design language. It comes with geometric patterns, Star Map LED headlights & daytime running lights, EV5-like LED taillights, SUV-inspired bumpers, and a boxier exterior.

Inside, the second-generation Seltos welcomes occupants with either a 10.25-inch or a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display. It supports both Apple CarPlay & Android Auto and can come with either a 6-speaker sound system or an 8-speaker Bose audio system.

Depending on the variant chosen, the Seltos can either come with fabric seats or leather upholstery. Meanwhile, high-grade variants can come with a panoramic sunroof, a power-adjustable driver's seat, dual-zone climate control, remote engine start, and a suite of intelligent driver aids.

With the all-new Kia Seltos now in Indonesia, we're wondering when Kia Philippines plans to bring the Seltos here. Moreover, we're curious whether the automaker plans to launch it with a turbo hybrid powertrain rather than just an internal combustion engine (ICE).

For now, you can read up on our first drive of the all-new Kia Seltos when we got to test it in Korea.
