GAC Philippines has officially expanded its lineup of electrified vehicles with the launch of another hybrid electric vehicle (HEV).

This is the 2026 GAC GS4 Max HEV, a next-generation hybrid SUV engineered for upward-mobile families that the automaker claims delivers a high-value blend of maximum space, comfort, safety, and efficiency.

Powering the GS4 Max HEV is a 2.0L Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine that's paired with the brand's hybrid system. It consists of a single electric motor, a 2.1 kWh battery pack, and a 2-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT). The result is a combined system output of 235 PS with 300 Nm of torque, and it can seamlessly switch between Pure Electric (EV), Hybrid (HV), Direct Engine Drive, and Energy Recuperation modes.

On a full charge and a full tank of gasoline with regenerative braking, GAC says the GS4 Max HEV can do up to 1,250 km.

Style-wise, the GS4 Max HEV borrows some styling cues from the Emkoo HEV, but gets a more striking yet confident exterior. It gets a stylish matrix front grille, distinct LED headlights, full-width taillights, and electric door handles that give the crossover a clean silhouette. It also has stylish two-tone alloy wheels, a tailgate spoiler, a panoramic glass roof, and body cladding.

With a generous 2750mm wheelbase and a width of 1901mm, the GS4 Max HEV is spacious and inviting. The interior, meanwhile, has a minimalist design that's complemented by whisper-quiet acoustic insulation. The dashboard features a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, along with faux metal accents.

The rest of the cabin gets an aircraft-inspired gear selector, a 7-inch digital instrument panel, a 50W wireless smartphone charger with a cooling fan, dual-zone climate control with rear vents, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, and zero-pressure comfort seats.

Available colors for the GAC GS4 Max HEV include Crystal White, Hoary Gray, and Planet Silver.

The GS4 Max HEV retails for PHP 1.298 million, but GAC is offering a special introductory price of PHP 1.218 million until September 30, 2026. Reservations are now open at GAC dealerships nationwide.
