All-new BMW XM Label Red unleashed with nearly 1,000 Nm of torque
Remember when information about BMW's most powerful super SUV was leaked last year? After nearly a year of its existence being accidentally revealed, the Bavarian automaker has officially unleashed the 2024 BMW XM Label Red.

While the XM already makes a potent 653 PS and 800 Nm of torque from a 4.4-liter twin-turbo plug-in hybrid V8, the Label Red kicks things up a notch thanks to a more powerful engine under the hood. While the electric motor still makes 197 PS and 280 Nm of torque, the twin-turbo V8 now generates 585 PS and 723 Nm of torque – an increase of 95 PS and 73 Nm, respectively.
The result is a combined output of 748 PS and 997 Nm of torque which dwarfs the regular output of the already powerful standard XM. In fact, BMW claims the XM Label Red's 0 – 97 km/h is rated at 3.7 seconds, an improvement compared to the regular XM which can do it in 4.1 seconds. When it comes to top speed, it's still limited to 250 km/h but can be raised to 290 km/h with the M Driver's Package. In pure electric mode, BMW claims the XM Label Red can reach a top speed of 140 km/h and has an estimated range between 75 to 83 km on just battery power alone.

To make the Label Red stand out from your regular XM, it comes with sporty red accents, red badges, and red wheel inserts. There's also the eye-catching Toronto Red Metallic accent band that replaces the standard black finish. But if you really want your XM Label Red to be exclusive, several examples can be finished in BMW Individual Frozen Carbon Black.

Just like the exterior, BMW made generous use of red accents throughout the interior. Red contrast stitching can be seen on the door panels, dashboard, center console, as well as seats. More red can be seen on the aircon vents and carbon fiber panels. Last but not least, there's a red XM badge just below the controlled display to remind everyone they are in something special.

The 2024 BMW XM Label Red will officially make its public debut at this year's Auto Shanghai. Production, meanwhile, will begin in August 2023 at the company's Spartanburg factory in the US.
