Isuzu Bacolod: Six decades of growing with the Negros island region
Six decades can transform almost everything.
Roads that were once narrow become highways. Small businesses grow into thriving enterprises. Families pass the torch from one generation to the next, while industries adapt to new technologies and changing demands.
Through all that change, the value of a trusted partner can only grow stronger.

For the past six decades, Isuzu Bacolod has been a constant fixture in the Negros island, evolving alongside the communities it serves while remaining committed to helping businesses and motorists move forward.
The story began on September 1, 1966, when Southern Auto Mart Trading Corporation established Isuzu Bacolod. At a time when agriculture, particularly the sugar industry, was booming in the Negros island, dependable commercial vehicles played an essential role in keeping goods moving.
Early Isuzu trucks such as the TD50 and the TD70 became familiar sights on the roads of Negros, serving as workhorses that transported harvests, supplies, and equipment. From sugarcane cuttings to mills, and eventually refined sugar, trucks that came from Isuzu Bacolod played a key role in transporting sugar products to ports, and eventually made their way across the Philippines and the world.
As industries around Negros expanded, so too did the dealership's role, earning the trust of businesses that depended on durable vehicles and dependable aftersales support.
What started as a commercial vehicle dealership gradually expanded to serve a broader range of customers. As Isuzu Philippines Corporation started introducing pickup trucks like the Fuego, as well as passenger vehicles like the Hi-Lander to the market, Isuzu Bacolod adapted to the needs of the times by offering more showroom amenities, improved service facilities, and well-trained manpower. But more importantly, Isuzu Bacolod kept the same commitment to customer care by introducing modern customer relations systems.

For many customers in Negros, purchasing an Isuzu became more than a one-time transaction. From entrepreneurs building their first businesses to families looking for dependable daily transportation, this became the start of a long-term relationship that spanned multiple vehicles and even multiple generations.

That spirit of partnership remains at the heart of Isuzu Bacolod today. The dealership has continued to invest not only in the services it offers but also in the experience it provides. In 2025, Isuzu Bacolod underwent a full dealership renovation, with its recently revamped facility now designed under Isuzu's latest Outlet Standard, or IOS.
In fact, Southern Auto Mart Trading Corporation is also constructing a new and bigger 3S dealership in Dumaguete City, which reflects the company's commitment to serving customers better through a larger showroom, enhanced customer amenities, and a more efficient service operation. The relocated and modernized dealership is designed to ensure that every visit is more convenient and comfortable than ever before.

As customer expectations evolve and mobility continues to change, Isuzu Bacolod remains focused on providing reliable solutions backed by professional service and long-term support. Throughout its six decades in service, its mission remains unchanged: to be a dependable partner at every stage of the Isuzu ownership journey.
